Reminder: Message in a bottle

message in a bottle web

The ‘Message in a Bottle’ scheme, run by The Lions Club, is designed to encourage people to keep their personal and medical details on a standard form and in a common location – the fridge.

If a patient has a bottle, they will have stuck two labels in their house - one on the inside of the front door or main entrance and the other on the door of their fridge.

The scheme aims to save patient-facing staff time identifying the patient, their emergency contacts, special medication, allergies etc.

The bottles are free of charge and can usually be found in chemists or doctors surgeries.

To find out more information about the scheme please visit the Lion’s Club website or if you would like the opportunity to get involved with this scheme then please contact your local Lions Club or email mdhq@lions.org.uk or telephone 0121 441 4544 for details of your nearest Lions Club or click here to find your nearest club.
