OPS UPDATE

To ensure we have a sustainable supply of portable Oxygen during our response during the COVID-19 Pandemic the Trust has reviewed our current provision of Oxygen cylinders on our front line resources.

Today the Executive Leadership Team have approved a revised maximum load list for portable cylinders. The changes will effect DSA’s only with no change to RRV’s and LOM resources.

The context of the COVID-19 response is important when considering our approach to patient care and the instructions issued. Flexibility to respond to increasing demand on our services is necessary. With critical levels of demand, further difficult decisions will need to be taken to maximise the ability to provide care to as many people as possible.

Can we please ensure these maximum stock levels are followed. It is also important that once patients are transferred to the Ambulance the Oxygen supply is switched from the portable cylinder to main supply.

If you have any questions, please contact your local management team.
