Scheme to change A&E destination rolled out across Trust

With the continued challenges that we are experiencing around handover delays at hospital, and following discussions that Chief Executive Robert Morton has had on this issue with acute trust CEOs today, the Trust has taken the decision to extend its ‘intelligent conveyance’ (IC) pilot across the region, effective tomorrow (Saturday, 5th March).

Intelligent conveyance is about changing the destination A&E for ambulances, when the system is saying that some hospitals are under too much pressure to receive patients in a timely manner.

Wherever possible, please print and display a copy of the bulletin on stations and in EOCs to give all colleagues the opportunity to see it.
