Service sees demand spike during September heatwave

Ambulance line up blue sky

New figures have revealed a spike in demand for our service during last week’s heatwave that swept across the region.

From 12th - 15th September, we received more than 11,500 emergency calls regionally, compared to 10,300 over the same period last year.

Kevin Brown, Director of Service Delivery, said: “Despite the increase in demand faced over recent days, all of you have continued to deliver quality care to all of our patients and for that I want to thank you.”
