'Time to celebrate' our EEAST volunteers!

This year Volunteers Week falls on 1st – 7th June and we are using the opportunity to say thank you to all of our hardworking volunteers here at EEAST.

We have over 1,500 volunteers within the Trust, and without their support we wouldn’t be able to provide 24/7 support to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our Interim Chief Executive Officer, Dorothy Hosein said: “Volunteers are absolutely essential to the day to day running of our service, so we really do owe you all a huge thank you for everything you do for us.”

Throughout the week, we will be using each weekday to promote the work of our volunteers in each of our 5 groups:

  • Volunteer car drivers (Monday)
  • Critical care charities (Tuesday)
  • Chaplains (Wednesday)
  • Community first responders (Thursday)
  • Community engagement group (Friday)

Andrew Egerton-Smith, Non-Executive Director said: “On behalf of the Trust, I want to thank you all very much indeed for the level of commitment which you show to the Trust and to the patients of East Anglia by volunteering in a number of areas.”

From videos to blogs and a special edition of our #HumansofEEAST campaign, we have a wide range of coverage of our volunteer groups for the week ahead so keep an eye out on all of our channels to see what we have in store!

We will also be holding some coffee, tea and cakes events around the region that all of team EEAST are invited to, in honour of volunteer’s week. Want to come along? Get in touch with Rebecca Dawson on rebecca.dawson@eastamb.nhs.uk to reserve yourself some tea and cake!
