University approval and APEL workshops: the latest for SPs

Side of RRV with lozenge

Both our partner Universities are still progressing to gain approval the programmes with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This week we will have the Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) approval event on Thursday and Friday so we should know more in around a months’ time. The UEA has had their visit and just received the feedback and are currently reviewing, so we will update on this as soon as we can.

We are working with the Universities to support the APEL workshops and will be sending out dates for Trust support days to assist in completion of your portfolio. We have had feedback from the ARU sessions and are producing a question/answer bulletin which we will make it clear if it applies to the UEA as well. This will be published as soon as possible with responses from both the Trust and ARU.

We have received limited feedback from students who have been through the UEA sessions and we would welcome this to ensure that any questions are answers as fully as possible, so if you have any feedback then please email training@eastamb.nhs.uk.

For those students at ARU the Dean of the faculty and course team will be holding drop in meetings:, broken down into three sessions per day.

  • Friday 23rd October: 10am-12pm, 1-3pm and 4-6pm in Chelmsford (room – Queens 210)
  • Friday 6th November: 10am-12pm, 1-3pm and 4-6pm in Cambridge (room – Helmore 114)

This is an opportunity to ask any questions about the course and any general queries you may have.

ARU are also holding further APEL dates for those who have not been able to attend, drop in sessions to support you in building your portfolio, and sessions for mentors. Details can be found here.
