Advanced notice of MDT and CAD work on Tuesday (29th)

Blurred ambulance

On Tuesday (29th November) two updates will be taking place on the MDT and CAD.

CAD maintenance

On Tuesday, 29th November at 4am EOC will be undertaking some essential maintenance on the CAD. This work will ensure that the EOCs are working with an updated address list and will improve the overall speed of the CAD.

The work will last for approximately 30 minutes, and during this time the EOC will be using the paper dispatch process.  This means that, during this time, operational staff will receive no information on MDT - EOC will pass all calls verbally to operational staff. During this time it operational staff will also be required to pass all statuses to the EOC verbally (i.e. at scene, leaving scene etc.)

The EOC will communicate through general broadcast when the work will commence and will again general broadcast when the work has been completed.

MDT update

EOCs will also be updating the MDT over the course of the 29th November, and will need crews on vehicles to ‘accept’ the update on each unit.

At some point during the day, when you log off you’ll see this message appear on the system: ‘There are some update(s) pending. Can these update(s) be applied now?’

Please select ‘Yes’. The update will then load, and should be completed within a minute.

The update allows a three-user log on for the MDT; there are occasions where we have three staff members on a vehicle, for example during student paramedic training. The new update will allow each staff member to log on and be recorded, which is important both for the safety of
our staff and for accuracy on CAD records.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the CAD team at clericCAD@eastamb.nhs.uk
