All about awards for Norwich EOC

The excellence of two ambulance control room staff has been celebrated!

Lorraine and Heather, who work at Norwich EOC, were presented with awards on Friday (9th October).

Clinical support desk (CSD) advisor Lorraine received a bronze and silver award for consistent call handling excellence. Lorraine, who has worked for the ambulance service for 10 years, achieved 25 and 50 consecutive compliant audits to achieve the awards. She is the first CSD advisor to gain the silver award.

Duty EOC Officer Heather was presented the Ambulance Service Institute (ASI) Control Room award for her work in supporting call handlers and dispatchers.

Heather, who started working for the Trust as a call handler seven years ago, was presented with a trophy by former ASI president John after she was unable to attend an awards do in London in July.

She won the national award for the support she provides to EOC staff in Norwich and the mentoring and training package she put together for new call handlers and dispatchers.

John said: “This is a national award that recognises members of the ambulance community who have performed outstanding service. Heather’s nomination was such high quality that it was easy to pick her as a winner.”
