Ambulance stalwart retires after 44 years

Friends and colleagues gathered last week to wish a very fond farewell to much-loved Steve, as he retires from the Trust with a staggering 44 years of service.

Most recently based in Norwich, Steve’s work in the supplies department helped to make sure that thousands of staff were looking ship shape in their uniform, assisting the issue and ordering of ‘greens’ for colleagues all over the region.

Completely dedicated to patient care, many will also remember Steve fondly from his years at Diss as a local ambulance-man.

After gathering to say goodbye and a spot of fish and chips, Steve’s colleagues thanked him for his time at the Trust. Ron, from the supplies team, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Steve for all his hard work over the years. He’s helped so many patients and staff along the way, but although he’ll be missed by us all after 44 years very much deserves some time off!”

Steve, on behalf of everyone here at the Trust – we wish you a long, healthy and happy retirement!
