Amended guidance for fuel levels on Trust ambulances and cars

Blurred ambulance

Following staff feedback about the amount of fuel left in ambulances and response cars at the end of shifts in Need to Know in March, the Trust has amended the guidance to state that it should be half a tank of fuel, not a quarter.

This decision has been made after staff feedback and further investigation into appropriate fuel levels, so thank you for commenting on the article and for getting in touch with operational managers.

Please also remember to use a Trust bulk fuel site, which saves money as we pay four pence per litre less than when you fill up at a commercial petrol station. It also prevents errors occurring by using the wrong fuel, which entails a significant cost to the Trust, as there is only diesel available at the sites. These are:

Beccles
Cambridge
Cromer
Downham Market
Great Notley
Harwich
Haverhill
Hellesdon
Ipswich

Kings Lynn
Longwater
