Apprentice EMT next steps

Thank you to all staff who have recently submitted expressions of interest for the new Apprentice Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) role.

A high number of applications both internally and externally were received and we will be inviting the successful applicants to the assessment day next Saturday (7th July) at West Suffolk College.

We have prioritised applicants based on their current SLM areas to try and ensure staff can attend a training course closest to them, meaning we are still shortlisting applicants for the four courses starting in January. If you have not heard from us, we will be contacting you in due course to confirm if you have been successful and which assessment day you will be allocated to.

If you did not apply this round, we will be opening for further expressions of interest in early August and will notify you via Need to Know and HR Services e-zine when the process is open.

Expressions of interest will open w/c 13th August, with shortlisting taking place from late September.  Assessment days will be run from late October into November.  We are still working with a number of colleges who are supporting us with functional skills testing and will be able to confirm nearer the time actual dates.

We have received a number of queries since the launch of the process and have hopefully addressed these in these frequently asked questions (FAQs).
