Are you eligible for a long service award?

Planning is underway for this year’s Celebration and Contribution Awards event to recognise our staff and their achievements.

The communications team, that is organising the event, wants to make sure everyone who is eligible, receives a long service award.

The categories are:

  • Queens medal for long service and excellence. This award is for 20 years of continuous service in the emergency ambulance service in A&E. To be eligible the 20th anniversary date of your first operational shift must have fallen between 1st January - 31st December 2016. Please note that this time frame cannot include any career breaks.
  • 20 years ambulance service. This award is for EOC and all non-A&E and support staff who have worked for the ambulance service for 20 continuous years, to have been completed by 31st December 2016.
  • 25 years NHS service. This award is for all staff that have worked continuously in the NHS for 25 years and includes all previous NHS service, whatever that may be, to have been completed by 31st December 2016.
  • 35 years NHS service. This award is for all staff that have worked continuously in the NHS for 35 years and includes all previous NHS service, whatever that may be, to have been completed by 31st December 2016.
  • 10 years volunteer service. This award is for volunteer car drivers and community first responders who have completed 10 years’ service, which must be completed before 31st December 2016.

The ceremony is set to take place in November, and we will be releasing more information on how to nominate your colleagues for individual awards, shortly.

Invitations to those who are eligible for long service will also be distributed in the coming weeks. Please ensure you respond promptly.
