Are you eligible for your long service award this year?

As the planning for this year’s Trust awards gets underway, a quick tally of years served by staff eligible for their long service awards comes in at more than 1,900 years so far!

If you think that you are eligible for an award this year – please email us at trustawards@eastamb.nhs.uk.  Please get in touch by 9^th May to make sure you’re included for this year.

The categories are:

• Queens medal for long service and excellence: This award is for 20 years of continuous emergency ambulance service in A&E.  You will need to have completed 20 years continuous service in the emergency ambulance service in A&E between 1^st Jan and 31^st Dec, 2015. 

• 20 years NHS service: This award is for EOC and all non-A&E staff who have worked for the NHS for 20 continuous years. You will need to have completed 20 years’ service between 1^st Jan to 31^st Dec, 2015. 

• 25 years NHS service: This award is given to staff that have worked continuously in the NHS for 25 years and includes all previous NHS service, whatever that may be. You will need to have completed 25 years’ service between 1^st Jan to 31^st Dec, 2015. 

• 35 years NHS service: This award is given to staff that have completed 35 years continuous service in the NHS and again includes all NHS service. You will need to have completed 35 years’ service between 1^st Jan to 31^st Dec, 2015. 

• 10 years volunteer service: Given to our volunteer car drivers and community first responders when they complete 10 years’ service. You will need to have completed 10 years voluntary service between 1^st Jan to 31^st Dec, 2015.

The ceremony is due to take place in September, with invitations to be sent out nearer the date, so keep watching Need to Know for more info!
