Are you eligible for your long service award?

The planning for this year’s staff awards is underway.

The HR Service team are in the process of identifying the long service recipients; there are some people who may for whatever reason not be flagged up and therefore if you think that you are eligible for a long service award at this year’s ceremony please email us at awards@eastamb.nhs.uk by 30th June to make sure you’re included for this year.

The categories are:

  • Queens medal for long service and good conductThis award is for 20 years of continuous emergency ambulance service in A&E. You will need to have completed 20 years continuous service in the emergency ambulance service in A&E between 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018. The Queens Warrant states that the 20 years starts from when you leave training school and start seeing patients face to face. Criteria for this award also requires confirmation of exemplary conduct.
  • 20 years Ambulance serviceThis award is for EOC, PTS and all support staff who have worked for the ambulance service for 20 continuous years. You will need to have completed 20 years’ service between 1stJanuary 2018 to 31st December 2018
  • 25 years NHS serviceThis award is given to staff that have worked continuously in the NHS for 25 years and includes all previous NHS service, whatever that may be. You will need to have completed 25 years’ service between 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018. 
  • 35 years NHS serviceThis award is given to staff that have completed 35 years continuous service in the NHS and again includes all NHS service. You will need to have completed 35 years’ service between 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018. 
  • 40 years NHS service: *New for 2019* this award is given to staff that have completed 40 years continuous service in the NHS and again includes all NHS service. You will need to have completed 40 years’ service between 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018.  
  • 10 years volunteer serviceGiven to our volunteers when they complete 10 years’ service. You will need to have completed 10 years voluntary service between 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018.

 

The ceremony is expected to take place in October, with invitations going out later in the year. We will also be releasing information very soon on how to nominate your colleagues for special contribution awards, so keep watching NeedtoKnow for more information.
