Award nomination for road safety campaign

A campaign to educate young drivers about road safety has been shortlisted for a national award.

Our staff have been touring Norfolk schools and colleges since November as part of #Impact, launched by the county’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Lorne Green.

More than 1,800 students, at 12 venues, have been reached through the initiative which is actively supported by EEAST, Norfolk Constabulary, and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.

And #Impact has now been shortlisted for the 2017 FirstCar Young Driver Road Safety Awards under the ‘partnership scheme’ category, which will be held on 26th April.

DLO Dale Meacham-Roberts, said: “I’d like to thank all the ambulance staff who have taken part in #Impact and their hard work.

"It has been a pleasure working with the other emergency services on this successful project.

"However, more important than receiving awards is the reaction of the young people who said it was insightful, eye opening and educational.”
