Be seen and heard on the roads

Blurred ambulance

As we enter the depths of winter, with shorter hours of daylight, more adverse weather conditions and the roads getting busier in the run up to Christmas please make sure that if you are responding to incidents on blue lights that you are seen and heard.  Over recent months we have seen an increase in the number of emergency vehicles involved in traffic incidents and we want our staff to be safe.

So simply, if you are making a blue light response, make sure you can be seen and heard. This will help people around you know where you are and where you are coming from and increase your safety.

Our communications team continue to support safer driving messages to the public and will be promoting what people should do when an emergency vehicle approaches them on blue lights.
