Bedford goes live with Cleric

Bedford EOC 1

On Wednesday (18th November) morning the new Cleric CAD system went live in Bedford EOC.  This was the culmination of much planning, training and testing in the build up to go live which saw Beds and Herts calls and dispatching being managed by Chelmsford and Norwich whilst the Cleric system was being implemented.

During the night and on the morning, the implementation team did encounter a number of issues which had to be resolved before the system could be made live. This resulted in a small delay of a few hours in Bedford EOC going live on Cleric. Since go live the team have been ironing out teething problems and the system is working well. Over the coming weeks further refinements and improvements will be made as the system beds in.

The project team are now reviewing the success of the roll out in Bedford so that the plans for implementation for Chelmsford and Norwich can be further enhanced.  It is currently planned to implement Cleric in Chelmsford and Norwich in February.

Jon Moore, Executive Officer, said, “I want to thank everyone involved in making this implementation run so well – from the project and implementation teams, EOC staff in all three EOCs and crews and management teams; without your support this would not have been possible. We knew to expect some issues and challenges on the day; you have to be prepared for this when you implement any new system. I am delighted that the system is running well in Bedford and look forward to rolling out Cleric to Chelmsford and Norwich.”

Robert Morton, Chief Executive, said, “I spent a few hours in Bedford EOC on Tuesday night, and our Trust Chair Sarah Boulton did the same on Wednesday night. What came across to both of us was the positive team work of everyone involved to make this implementation a success. Thank you for your hard work, I know this was not an easy project but it really shows what we can do when we collectively focus on a task or challenge.”
