HART operative receives 21 thank you letters from Brownie troop

Stuart Reeves, an EMT who is an operative for HART in Melbourn, visited a Brownie troop in the village earlier this year. He was invited to the 2nd Melbourn Brownies by their Snowy Owl Lucinda Cockman. Stuart taught them many useful lifesaving techniques like resuscitation, when to dial 999 and how to put a person into the recovery position.

They learned a fun technique for resuscitation to the rhythm of the song ‘Staying Alive’ by the Bee Gees. The Brownies will all receive a first aid badge for participating in the class.

Mrs Cockman said: “The class was such fun it didn’t feel like learning at all!”

The Brownies enjoyed their lesson so much that they each wrote Stuart an individual thank you letter.  One of the mums said: “My daughter absolutely loved watching Stuart teaching them first aid, she is still humming the song Staying Alive.”
