Building better rotas: In case you missed the info

Thank you to everyone who has made contact about taking part in this summer’s working parties which will help shape rotas from next year.

By today (Thursday), more than 30 members of staff have emailed since the information went live on East 24 two weeks ago; for those of you away during that time or not able to access East24, please visit those pages and read through the information about what the plan is this year to build better rotas.

What we need people to do is read the information about taking part in working parties - the sessions broken down into SLM areas where you will represent your colleagues and work through the options you want to take to them to vote on in the autumn. Just email with the working party you would like to take part in, and any questions you might have about them - please bear in mind that pparticipation is voluntary and no expression of interest is a guarantee of a place on a working party. Being on it comes with the significant responsibility of representing your colleagues’ interests as well as your own. You will need to be open minded, respectful of other people’s opinions and ensure you effectively communicate with your colleagues during the process.

We endeavour to update the FAQs every week, but all emails are responded to as well as comments made on this platform - many members of staff are commenting on the previous article in Need to Know so you might want to save that page to keep up to date with colleagues’ feedback there.

As time goes on, it’s likely you’ll be signposted to the FAQs unless you have a very specific question or concern relating to your individual circumstances. Please keep up to date by coming back to Need to Know for Building better rota articles, or visiting East24 and the information there. You can also talk with line managers who can pass on your feedback to the project team.
