CFRs awarded 5 Year Badge for Service

Steve Wicks and Gary Morton 5 year Badge 2019

Tuesday night at training, l had the pleasure of presenting Steve Wicks and Gary Morton with their 5 Year Badge for serving as Community First Responders (CFRs) with EZ001 Brightlingsea.

Thank you for responding to our community (Steve has actually done eight and a half years and Gary six and a half years!)

On receiving their badges, Steve commented:

"I am very proud to be a CFR and enjoy being part of a great group of people, serving our community in Brightlingsea. We receive such amazing support from the people of the town and it is so rewarding to be able to provide a rapid local response and to be a calming influence in stressful situations. It is also a privilege to see, first-hand, the skill and dedication of EEAST front-line staff".

Gary also commented:

"It is a privilege to be able to respond in our community when people are in need of help. It is great to have a good insight into the skill and compassion of the ambulance crews that we work alongside and the mutual respect shown."

These two members of the team, here at Brightlingsea, have provided a constant contribution of their time and skills, to provide cover as CFRs to support EEAST. Brightlingsea was the first CFR group to go live in EEAST back in 1997 and we are told it was the first in the country!

With dedication from members of the whole group, we will continue to respond for many years to come, providing this valuable service to our community.

Steve,

Steve Houston, Joint Co-ordinator, EZ001 Brightlingsea Community First Responders.
