Change to maternity packs

In line with best practice and national recommendations the swabs within the maternity packs will be changing (as new packs are ordered). The new swabs are larger at 22.5cm x 22.5cm, contain a tail, and are X-ray detectable.

Current packs with the smaller swabs can still be used, although during handover to the midwife please highlight which type has been used and how many. This information is vital if any swabs have been used in postpartum care. Please also record this information on the patient care record.
