Changes to the CAD system upgrade

HEOC call handler

The Intergraph CAD system upgrade is a significant project for the Trust, involving a critical system with direct impact on service delivery and patient safety.

Over the last two weeks, a number of issues have arisen in the project affecting both training and testing of the upgrade. This has been compounded by some significant infrastructure/power issues affecting the current CAD system which needed considerable effort to resolve.

Taking everything into account, as well as the general organisation challenges, the Trust will postpone the planned upgrade. We believe this is in the best interests of patients, EOC staff and the wider organisation; we can extend the time needed to test the system, allow further EOC recruitment and allow new staff to gain experience in their roles. It also enables us to take full advantage of new features in the CAD to benefit service delivery.

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the project for their considerable hard work and commitment, and for your patience. We want to reassure you that we will continue planning so that we can upgrade the CAD next year, and that the current system remains supported by Intergraph. If you have any queries, please speak with your line manager.
