Chelmsford station is officially open!

Today members of the public and dignitaries joined staff to mark the opening of the brand new facility off Chelmer Valley Road.

The station will provide better facilities and a better base to respond to patients.

Robert Morton, Chief Executive of EEAST, said: “The opening of this excellent new ambulance hub is the culmination of a lot of hard work by many people. Thank you also to everyone who either attended or was involved in making this day happen.”

Jenny Tolhurst, Lord-Lieutenant of Essex joined MPs, councillors, NHS colleagues, Healthwatch, EEAST staff and volunteers to celebrate the state-of-the-art facility, which was three years in the planning.

Sandra Chick, Senior Locality Manager for Mid Essex, added: "I'd like to thank the project team as we managed the move with no disruption to our service and that is testament to their hard work and dedication."
