Chief Executive recruitment update

Transparent EEAST crest

The recruitment advert for a new Chief Executive will be published tomorrow (Friday, 24th April).

As staff will be aware our current Chief Executive Anthony Marsh, who joined us in January last year, was brought in for an agreed period of up to two-years to help accelerate improvements for the service and to build the foundations for long term sustainability.

As a result of a series of actions that Anthony put in place when he took over in January 2014, services to patients and performance is significantly improved, although we recognise there is still much work for us to do. Now these service improvements are embedded, the recruitment programme for a new and permanent Chief Executive can be launched – a process that could take more than six months. In the meantime, Anthony will continue as Chief Executive.

The Board is determined to find a compelling, visionary new chief executive who can continue the good work that Anthony has put in place. As such, once the candidates have been shortlisted the Board will be looking for staff to get involved in the selection process; if you’d like to take part, please use the ‘contact us’ form (bottom right) on Need to Know to register your interest.

We’ll make sure that any further updates are shared with you all here on Need to Know as they happen.
