Clinical update: Corpuls update- introducing new paediatric oximetry leads

Ambulance side shot

Following on from your feedback, we are introducing a new paediatric oximetry lead.

As we roll out the new leads, we will see two types of cables in operation across the Trust.

The Medical Devices Management Group has elected to change to a Masimo Copper core rather than a fibre optic cable as this has been found to be more robust in operational use.

There is a risk that the two cables are not interchangeable, so you will need to make sure you are carrying the correct paediatric stick probe for the device you are using.

The full clinical update includes what the current and new probes look like and information about an alternative supply of Corpuls blood pressure cuffs, which is available to staff.

If you have any concerns, please contact your local management or the clinical engineering team.
