Compassionate Conversations - Your appraisal is launched

Compassionate Conversations

Today (Monday 30th April) the Trust launches it's new Compassionate Conversations appraisal process for staff.  This is an important milestone within the Trust’s Leadership Strategy and Transformation Plan and will ensure leaders put into action the executive board’s belief that at the heart of the organisation are our people.

The Compassionate Conversations appraisal process has been designed to support leaders engaging with their staff to enable people to feel valued, supported, empowered and accountable for what they do and how they do it.

Based around the four pillars, Compassionate Conversations takes a holistic approach to each individual staff member, providing the opportunity to engage with their leader by:

  • Discussing their performance and agreeing clearer, smarter, specific role objectives – what each employee needs to achieve in their role moving forward over the next year.
  • Empowering our staff to identify what development needs they require to support them meeting and achieving their role objectives, linking to future career aspirations and ultimately talent & succession planning.
  • Discussing how the individual/team/leader demonstrates through everyday practice that they live the Trust’s Vision, Values & Behaviours.
  • Taking a proactive approach to raising awareness of EEAST’s Wellbeing services to our staff by bringing this compassionate conversation into everything we do.

Supporting our leaders is integral to the success of implementing Compassionate Conversations. Our leaders now have available to them a simple, user-friendly process that will enable them to support their staff and develop effective working relationships with the people they lead, available 24/7, 365 days a year, anytime, anyplace, anywhere.
