Cromer open day raises hundreds of pounds for charity

Colleagues from emergency services across north Norfolk gathered for the Cromer ambulance station open day, raising funds for a local charity.

More than £400 was raised for charity Nelson’s Journey, a charity that supports bereaved children in Norfolk.

Last Sunday’s event (3rd July) gave hundreds of people the chance to find out more about the Trust, meet the staff and explore the ins and outs of an ambulance.

Dale Meacham-Roberts, Cromer Duty Locality Officer, said: “The day went very well and the weather was great. We had people of all ages from toddlers to the elderly attending right from the start.

“Thank you to everyone who attended. I hope the day gave the public the opportunity to see what we do on a day to day basis and meet our staff, who do what they can to provide the best care across Norfolk”.

North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb, the Mayor of Cromer and Central Norfolk Senior Locality Manager Mark Wrigley opened the event and RNLI, Coastguard, Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue, Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) and EEAST CFRs were also in attendance.
