Crucial Crew hits Ipswich

Ray Cook Ipswich Crucial Crew

Hundreds of children from Ipswich have been taught about the role of emergency services during the annual ‘Crucial Crew’ fortnight.

Last week Ray, Co-ordinator of the Sudbury community first responder (CFR) group, was involved in Suffolk’s event, where more than 1,500 10 and 11-year-olds were taught valuable safety lessons.

Ray, who will also be teaching at the Stowmarket and the Bury St Edmunds events in the next month, said: “It has been brilliant to be involved in such an important event, which has taught the children when to contact 999 and how to put people in the recovery position.”

Crucial Crew has been running in Ipswich since 1994.
