Death in benefits scheme

When losing someone close to you, having extra support can be greatly needed at what is a very difficult time.

With this in mind, the Trust would like to make you aware of the ‘Death in benefits‘ scheme.

The scheme is set up to give out a payment to a family member, or nominated person, of a member of staff who dies whilst employed with the Trust.

Karen Barry, Head of Human Resources, said: “This extremely beneficial scheme is available to all employees and is free to join.  The employee needs to be a member of the scheme to benefit.

“It only requires a small donation, equivalent to a one-off payment of one hour’s pay of basic salary, in the unfortunate event of a member registered on the scheme passing away.”
