Diabetes survey - thank you!

The research support services would like to thank all staff who have completed the impact diabetes survey, which aimed to find out more about the barriers and facilitators to diabetes referral pathways. Following a great staff response, this survey is now closed.

The results will be published via Need to Know and the project findings will be presented at the Emergency Care Conference: Quality Improvement and Innovation Research in Pre-hospital Care next year in Nottingham.

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance recommends that a patient is referred to a specialist diabetes team if they have required medical attention to treat hypoglycaemia. The patient benefits of referral include hypoglycaemia risk management, prevention and avoidance and improved long-term diabetes care.

These survey results will guide Trust-wide improvements for patient care and help increase the evidence base around referral pathways utilised by UK ambulance services.
