Double success at industry awards

Chelmsford HEOC

An emergency operations centre (EOC) call handler and clinical support desk (CSD) clinician have been recognised at a national awards ceremony for their work in Chelmsford and Norwich EOCs.

The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) named Jenny Coventry from Chelmsford as dispatcher of the year and Becca Howarth as clinician of the year.

Helen Royle, Claire Thundercliffe and Gina Wheeler also made it through to the final of the dispatcher of the year award.

The awards were announced at the annual IAED conference in Bristol on Monday (15th September).

Head of EOC Gary Morgan, who attended the ceremony, said: “It was great to see Becca and Jenny receiving their awards and being recognised for their excellent work. They thoroughly deserve it! With five of our EOC staff from across the region making the final stage, this reflects the great work carried out across our control rooms.”
