Dressing bag load list update

Mass casualty dressing bags

To help our skin tear (ST) aware clinicians follow the EEAST ST Pathway, we have introduced additional products into the general dressing bag.

This new dressing bag load list is now in operation across the Trust.

  • 2 X Atrauman dressing 10x7.5cm
  • 2 X Biatain Silicone Lite dressing 10x10cm
  • 2 X Biatain Silicone Lite dressing 12.5x12.5cm
  • 2 X Sterile tweezers/forceps
  • 1 X Sterile scissors

Atrauman; can be used by all EEAST clinicians and is suitable for the treatment of superficial acute and chronic wounds of any type. As a non-adherent wound contact layer, its functions include, preventing dressings from sticking to the wound bed, therefore, allowing easy removal without causing further trauma.

Application:  Remove the Atrauman dressing from the sterile peelpack with both cover papers, after the removal of one of the cover papers, place this side of the dressing onto the wound and remove the second cover. Dressing can be cut to size with sterile scissors. Place a sterile absorbent dressing pad over the dressing to absorb exudate. As Atrauman is a non-adherent primary dressing, a further product is required to secure in place, ie bandage or suitable adhesive dressing.

Contra-indications: Do not use if patient is allergic to any of the dressings ingredients.

Clinicians that have been awarded a ST certificate will be familiar with the Biatain dressings:
