EEAST Mental Health Team

Our team works within ECAT, but we have a Trust wide remit to provide advice and support for all Trust staff when dealing with any mental health related incidents.

This may involve, but is not limited to:

  • assessing risk;
  • assessing capacity in relation to MH issues;
  • reviewing services in the patients’ locality and addressing any related issues;
  • reviewing and improving what the Trust already provides (e.g. MHST, internal training/PU, etc);
  • implementing new projects;
  • working with external partners to improve working relationships.

If you are responding to a patient presenting with mental health issues then please feel free to contact us so that we can work together in providing the best possible pathway of care. We are keen to fill in the void that once existed with regards to mental health care, and are here to answer any and all of your queries.

You can contact us as follows: If you are on scene and would like some advice regarding a MH job, please contact us via the CAL line that you already use when seeking advice from a CCord. Please bear in mind that as we are not yet fully staffed, we are currently unable to provide 24/7 cover and so when we are not available the CCords are happy to help in the usual way.

The Mental Health Team was introduced as a patient focused initiative, and therefore does not provide direct, personal support to Trust staff. However, we can always signpost any staff who might approach us and we could support the Wellbeing Team if they felt it necessary. We would never turn anyone away without trying to assist. It is always important to seek help if you feel you require it.
