EEAST re-launches GoodSAM

Earlier this year, due to the pandemic, here at EEAST we took the decision to temporarily pause the deployment of responders via the GoodSAM App. We felt this was necessary in order to ensure the safety of both staff and volunteers who may be responding.

Over recent months we have been reassessing the risk of Covid-19 versus the risk of not using GooodSAM and I am pleased to say we are now in a position to re-enable the App. 

Initially, we are enabling the system for EEAST staff and volunteers only, but this will be reviewed on a regular basis with the hope of involving more responders as soon as possible. 

In order to respond there are some important pre-requisites which must be followed by staff and volunteers responding, these include access to PPE, the use of compression only CPR and considering if you are currently in an at risk group in terms of Covid-19. All GoodSAM responders and anyone considering becoming involved must read the attached document for full details.

We are all living and working in uncertain times and having to adapt our lives accordingly. The decision to be part of the GoodSAM response is an individual one, whilst we are re-enabling the application, please do not feel obliged to logon and respond if you do not feel comfortable at this time.
