EEAST represented at National Memorial Service

Walking to lay wreaths at the National Ambulance Memorial Service September 2021

Every two years, The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC) hosts a National Ambulance Memorial Service to remember and honour those members of the ambulance community who have died while in service.

Thursday 16th September, marked the eighth time this service has been held. Attendees include guests from right across the UK and EEAST was represented by our Chair, Nicola Scrivings, and Terry Hicks, Head of Operations for Norfolk and Waveney.

Nicola said, ‘It was a real privilege for Terry and I to represent the Trust at such a moving occasion. Not only does it respect the huge contribution made by our colleagues, it is also an opportunity for the friends and family of those who have died to visit a memorial in their honour. It is incredibly important, for those friends and family members to feel part of the wider Ambulance Service community and know that we remember and miss their loved ones as well. This was really evident as there were poems and moments of reflection led by Ambulance Service colleagues from right across the UK.’

The National Ambulance Memorial Service takes place in the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. The arboretum is free to visit and is open every day except Christmas Day.
