EEAST Staff set to get muddy for charity

Southend Cystic Fibrosis Association

This Saturday, 20th May, will see a group of EEAST staff, along with some of their friends and family, take part in the Tough Mudder event at Belvoir Castle in the Midlands. The team, who have called themselves Team Bandage, have chosen to split the money they raise between two charities.

The first charity is the local Southend Cystic Fibrosis Association, which aims to provide equipment and services to those suffering with cystic fibrosis in the Southend are. The other half of the money raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK. Both of these charities were chosen because many of the team members have had families and friends affected by both conditions.

Paramedic Paul Warwick from Southend station says: “We have been training hard to complete the tough course, including various runs and gym sessions.” This is in fact the fifth year the team has taken part, and it has become somewhat of a tradition. Paul adds: “The weekend away is a great social event for all of us and we get a great sense of achievement on completing the course as a team, as no one gets left behind.”

You can sponsor Team Bandage via their Just Giving page.

Good luck for the weekend!
