EEAST wins west Essex PTS contract

We are delighted to announce that we have won the patient transport service (PTS) contract for west Essex.

Following a very competitive tender, we will start running the contract from 1st May.

Liz McEwan, Head of Non-Emergency Services, said: “I am really pleased that we have won this contract and will be running the service in west Essex. We know that our patients really appreciate the work of our staff and the service we run, which is shown time after time in our excellent patient satisfaction survey results. I would like to thank everyone involved in putting our bid together and bringing this contract back to EEAST.”

The contract equates to approximately 42,000 patient journeys a year in west Essex and plans are now being put in place to ensure a smooth transition on 1st May. The fleet is almost ready and we are actively recruiting staff to work alongside those who want to transfer into the service from the current provider.

In addition, we are setting up a voluntary car service scheme to run alongside the work of our staff and are approaching volunteers who used to work for us in mid-Essex.
