Trust provides ‘Emergency Birth in the Community’ publication for frontline clinicians.

Newborn Baby

Emergency Birth in the Community has been specifically adapted from the official JRCALC Guidelines, the established standard for pre-hospital care, and is an essential resource for patient facing colleagues.

Many topics have been expanded on, including maternal resuscitation, umbilical cord prolapse, shoulder dystocia and post-partum haemorrhage.

Pocket cards with key algorithms are included, covering a multitude of birth presentations and maternity related conditions. The book also features summary cards for both mother and baby.

The publication will be delivered to stations over coming weeks and distributed through your local leadership team. A signature will be required to confirm you have received your copy.

We hope you find this resource helpful, if you have any feedback please contact QI@eastamb.nhs.uk
