Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Week 2019

Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Week 2019

From the 13th - 17th May, we will be celebrating Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week #EQW2019,  which is co-ordinated by NHS Employers. The theme this year is diverse, inclusive, together and has been chosen to reflect the move across the health and social care sector towards even greater collaboration and integration.

Working together makes the NHS stronger, we meet standards, enable change and collectively invest in the creation of a diverse and inclusive NHS workforce to deliver a more inclusive service and improved patient care.

At EEAST, we have established four Equality Networks for staff and volunteers to join if they wish, they are:

  • AWE (All Women In EEAST)
  • BME Network
  • Disability Support Network
  • LGBT Network

Information and articles about these groups will feature on Need To Know during this week. In the meantime, you can download our poster and display this at your stations.

Whilst equality, diversity and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do in our day to day interactions with colleagues, service users, their families and carers, the Equality, Diversity and Human Rights week gives us the opportunity to focus on this area and to raise awareness of these networks.

Best wishes,

Amanda Marsh
