Essex Chief Constable commends EEAST paramedic

Adrian Bell Commendations

South West Essex paramedic Adrian Bell was recently invited to Essex Police Headquarters in Chelmsford by Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington, where he was given a commendation for his swift action in helping save a life.

In March, Adrian and a police officer attended an incident where a young man was threatening to jump from a railway bridge.

After attempting to talk to the man for more than an hour, the man attempted to jump. Acting quickly, Adrian and the officer grabbed him, preventing him from falling on the live cables below.

Both were commended for their bravery, dedication and professionalism which resulted in saving a young man’s life.

Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington said: “Helping people, keeping them safe and catching criminals is what our officers do.

“In this case, our officers and a fellow colleague from the East of England Ambulance Service have gone above and beyond to keep people safe.”
