Essex staff donate Christmas gifts to charity

Staff in mid Essex have been bringing some Christmas cheer to those most in need by donating Christmas gifts for charity.

For a third year running Paramedic Liz Little from Witham and Acting DLO Steve Hudson decided to contribute to the festive appeal run by Chelmsford charity Kids Inspire, which provides a Christmas gift for children who may be living in care, or living with a parent with a mental health issue or simply in a family that has fallen on hard times.

Liz and Steve sent out requests to colleagues across mid Essex for staff to deliver their donated gifts to Chelmsford’s new ambulance station for wrapping on Tuesday (13th December).

Steve said: “This year we changed our targeted age for presents to the older kids. We don’t usually get much for the age range, but the support from everyone has been overwhelming.

“Both Liz and I have got young children, so this charity is very close to us. We wanted to support them.

“I’m grateful to everyone for their generosity – thank you!”
