Essex staff donate gifts to those in need

Two mid-Essex staff have been blown away by the generosity of colleagues following their efforts to help a Chelmsford charity.

For the second consecutive year, Liz Little and Steve Hudson have collected gifts that have been donated across all seven ambulance stations in mid-Essex for Chelmsford-based charity Kids Inspire.

This year has seen an astounding rise in donations from their colleagues, with more than 80 gifts in total heading to the hands of children across the county, which will no doubt help raise some festive cheer to those who need it.

The Fox Crescent based charity were so impressed with the donation that they wrote a touching thank you letter to the pair for their help, and to all staff who donated this year.

Mid-Essex Senior Locality Manager Sandra Chick said: “The generosity and care of all our colleagues has been truly overwhelming. We thought last year was a great success but this year has completely blown us away; it’s lovely to know that so many children across the county will have a bit more cheer to their Christmas.”

She added: “The fact that staff across my area have all pulled together to donate their time, gifts, and effort speaks volumes. I am immensely proud of everyone who helped and a special thanks to Liz and Steve for their selfless work. I can only hope this continues to grow every year and we can look back and see the positive impact this has on the children’s lives.”

The gifts, which also include food hampers, will predominantly go to children and families in mid-Essex. A few of the donations will be delivered to worthy recipients in Clacton, Colchester and parts of Uttlesford.
