More than 100 patients who received emergency treatment in January (the busiest start to a year on record), completed feedback questionnaires - with 98% being very satisfied, satisfied or fairly satisfied with the service.

The Trust scored 100% to questions around the professionalism, attitude, appearance and care provided by staff.

Top marks were also given for the cleanliness of the interior of the Trust’s ambulances and equipment.

More than 95% of respondents rated the handling of their call as very acceptable or acceptable, and nine out of 10 said the length of time they waited for the Trust to arrive was very acceptable, acceptable or fairly acceptable.

Comments from respondents included “very caring and reassuring”, “brilliant,” “excellent”, and “first class”. Another patient praised staff as “exemplary, courteous, calming, efficient and very caring”.

Robert Morton, Chief Executive, said: “Such high satisfaction scores are fantastic, especially after such a busy start to 2016.

“These results are testament to the hard work of all of you who continue to deliver exceptional levels of care, despite the pressures placed on us as a result of increased demand on the 999 service.”
