There are only a few places left for paramedics to take part in a national clinical trial to determine the best method of airway management in pre-hospital cardiac arrest.

Research Paramedic Helen said: “We have had a fantastic response to the article in Need to Know earlier this month and I’d like to thank everyone who has been in touch so far. We only need a few more paramedics to sign up so please get in touch as soon as possible if you’d like to be involved.”

The aim of the Airways-2 trial is to establish whether the i-gel, a second-generation supraglottic airway device, is superior to tracheal intubation in non-traumatic out of hospital cardiac arrest in adults, in terms of both clinical and cost effectiveness.
