Financial Grip and Cost Control

Recently you will have seen information from Finance regarding financial grip and cost control. The IM&T team are asking all managers to return IT equipment that is currently not in daily use. 

The team currently does not have any spare kit to issue to new starters and needs to re-issue unused equipment.  Staff are reminded that all items of IT kit are Trust property and do not “belong” to departments.  Please can you URGENTLY contact the IT Service Desk to arrange the return of kit.

As you will have seen from updates on Need to Know, the IM&T team will be carrying out a Windows 10 upgrade/replacement exercise over the next few months. Amongst other things, the new version will help the Trust to combat the latest ever-growing cyber-security threat. Any items of equipment not already returned to the department and therefore included in the upgrade, will be out of date and therefore insecure.

Any new requests for IT equipment coming into the IT Service Desk will need to be supported with the following information:

  • Staff name
  • Job Title
  • Location
  • Line Manager
  • Replacing an existing post/ new additional post
  • Business justification for any kit, particularly if anything other than a standard pc is requested.

All requests will need to be fully supported by the relevant director as these requests are submitted by the procurement team to Exec for approval each Thursday. 

Please be advised that equipment could take a minimum of 4 weeks to procure.
