Finnbar's Force was strong at Norwich Adventure Day

Finnbars Force Adventure Day

Almost 4,000 people flocked to the special event held at Eaton Vale Activity Centre in Norwich on Sunday (10th September), helping to raise more than £10,000 for the Norfolk charity - Finnbar’s Force.

Attendees showed their support by taking part in a multitude of adventurous activities, including abseiling, high ropes, archery, and axe throwing. For the smaller children - bouncy castles, low ropes, go-carts and soft-play meant there was really something for everyone!

Tristan, Finnbar’s father, organiser of the event and EEAST paramedic, said: “The day was an astonishing success. We worked incredibly hard to put on something really special to remember Finnbar on his birthday. He would have been in his element and I hope he would be proud of what we’ve achieved.

“We are delighted by the number of people that turned out to support our charity and we’d like to thank every one of our volunteers, along with the Eaton Vale staff, performers and all the people and business that donated items for the day.”

Tristan also hoped that the event would increase awareness. He added:“Brain tumours are the most deadly of all childhood cancers and probably also the most debilitating. If we can draw people’s attention to the symptoms by telling Finnbar’s story through events like this, it could help to bring an earlier diagnosis and a better chance of survival to another child.”

The £10,200 raised on the day will go towards helping families affected by the diagnosis of brain tumours in children, help fund research, and develop and improve services in Norfolk.
