First Christian Ambulance Association Newsletter

The Christian Ambulance Association (CAA) is a group supporting Christians in the ambulance service, run by Christians in the ambulance service.

It was started a couple of years ago by people in EEAST and is slowly growing nationally, with 120 members spread across all the national services and parts of the private sector. The association’s vision reads:

"In the ambulance service, we specialise in caring for others at their time of need who are injured, ill, broken, lost and hurting. It’s rewarding yet unpredictable and challenging. We get to work with the same kinds of people Jesus Christ spent time with; the least, the last and the lost. It’s also our privilege to work in a team of caring, supportive colleagues. We love being part of the ambulance ‘family’ and part of His family – they fit together. We can’t think of anywhere better to serve on the front line. Whether you’re patient-facing or in a supportive role, we want to help build a community of Christians working in the ambulance service, supporting our community, our colleagues and one-another.

The ambulance service is a unique environment, which means the best people to support ambulance staff are often other ambulance staff. We want students to think of a career as a paramedic as a great aspiration and career path. If you work in the ambulance service, are a student or a retired staff member, please join us and help realise our vision of making the ambulance service a widely recognised place for serving Jesus Christ on the front line. You can also support us as an associate or a supporting organisation."

The first edition of the CAA Newsletter is now available here and you can join at their website. Members from EEAST and London Ambulance Service (LAS) will also be at the Emergency Services Show at the National Exhibition Centre on the 18th and 19th September, where they’ll also be leading one of the Wellbeing seminars on the first day.

If you would like to find out more, please contact Simon King, Head of Operations for Beds and Luton, Herts and West Essex.
