"First class" Norfolk 111 service praised in latest patient survey

Almost 90% of callers were satisfied with the 111 service run by the Trust in Norfolk, latest patient survey results have revealed.

“Well organised,” “a wonderful comfort” and “first class” were just some of the comments patients said in questionnaires.

Patients who called the 24/7 non-emergency number in September were largely happy with their experience, with 89.6% very satisfied or satisfied, and 87.2% said the service exceeded or met their expectations.

The service has been run out of EEAST’s Hellesdon control room, near Norwich, since December 2012.

Of the respondents to the latest survey, 14% received medical advice from a nurse or paramedic, 12.7% were advised to contact their GP, 26.8% were referred to the out-of-hours GP service and 7% were transferred to the 999 emergency service.
