Training for a free learning tool to demonstrate and support your knowledge surrounding diabetes is available online.

The tool, from The Cambridge Diabetes Education Programme (CDEP), is designed to support all levels of staff.

A variety of diabetes specific topics are available which currently amounts to 30 hours of study time. New content is developed on an ongoing basis and is launched once it has been rigorously tested. Once you have completed the topic, you will receive a certificate.

Access to CDEP is via www.cdep.org.uk and you will need to set up a My Learning account.

To do this:

  1. Click on the link: sign in/ register
  2. Under new candidate registration enter your email address, (this can be work or personal) and click create account.
  3. On the next registration page, choose a secure/ memorable password, then input the registration key code: EAHSN2014 * If this code is not entered, you will be automatically passed to our payment page. If this does occur, please contact CDEP for support.
  4. Enter your full name (as you wish should appear on the certificates) and practice details.
  5. Select ‘your diabetes level’ (core, intermediate, specialist, expert or consultant) relevant for your role.
  6. Click ‘register now’.

You will now be able to access all the relevant CDEP topics for the level you selected under ‘I have an account’ by entering your email and password.

If you have any issues or require further support please contact Candice Ward, Lead CDEP educator candice.ward@addenbrookes.nhs.uk.

CDEP is accredited by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) as well as being endorsed by Diabetes UK, the Cambridge University Health Partners and the British Dietetics Association.
