Tickets are still available for a collaborative event on International Women’s Day to celebrate the role of women in the blue light services.

Key note speakers will address the themes of challenging stereotypes, collaboration and coaching and mentoring at the event on, 8th March, which will also see interactive activities and networking opportunities.

The Trust’s All Women in EEAST (AWE) group is hosting the day in collaboration with police and fire colleagues in Essex and free tickets are available – but limited – for EEAST staff. Any member of staff regardless of gender is welcome to attend.

Lindsey Stafford-Scott, Director of People and Culture, said: “We hope you will be able to join us for what we hope will be the first of many future collaborative events with our blue light partners and a real opportunity to celebrate the women who work in each of these fantastic services. This event provides a great opportunity for collaboration between the services and for each service to be explicit in their support for the gender equality agenda.

“There will be a charity auction of a range of experiences with each Service such as an ambulance ride out, day with the air ambulance team or a day with a police interceptor or dog handling team.  There will also be raffle prizes (donations gratefully received) and free commemorative merchandise on the day.

“There will be an exhibition space at the event with charities including (ROSA, MIND, EHAAT) and recruitment stands for the respective services; outside will be a selection of emergency vehicles for delegates to explore.”

The event is raising funds for ROSA, the UK fund for women and girls, through raffle and cake sale and will run at Chelmsford City Racecourse from 9.30am until 2.30pm.
